If report prints with black horizontal lines, a second manual drum cleaning may be needed. If no lines appear on the report, the issue has been resolved. Press Back two (2) times to exit the menu. If the arrows are not properly aligned, this will cause pages to print with a black line. Verify that the green tab on the corona wire has been returned to the Home position (▲). If not, your printed pages may have a vertical stripe. The arrow on the tab must be aligned with the arrow on the drum unit. Once the drum surface is dry, clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab from left to right and right to left several times.īe sure to return the green tab to the Home position (▲). Allow the alcohol to evaporate or dry off the drum surface completely before continuing.į. If physical damage (such as scratches, nicks, or gashes) is found on the surface of the drum, there is no need to continue cleaning since it won't resolve the issue. Isopropyl alcohol is flammable and should be kept away from fire or flame. Use the white gear on the far left side to turn the roller and ensure you clean the entire drum surface. You can also use an alcohol swab, such as a medical alcohol pad or wipe, which can be found in a first aid kit. If toner scatters on hands or clothing, immediately wipe it off or wash it with cold water.ĭ. Clean the roller inside the drum unit by gently wiping the entire surface with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol (91% strength is preferred, but 70% - 75% strength alcohol is also acceptable). Push down the green lock lever and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit.
